Meet Chelsea

It is an incredible honor to serve my neighbors as your City Councilwoman for District 2. I am seventh-generation Coloradan and love calling Englewood home.

In 1961 my grandparents bought their first home on Sherman Street in Englewood for $10,000. They brought my mom home from the hospital to that house and named her Cindy Rae, because they loved the name of the Cindy Rae Apartments on Broadway. That was 60 years ago. I ran for City Council because I care about Englewood's next 60 years.

I have a decade of public policy experience spanning the public, private, and non-profit sectors, and have seen firsthand how citizens can create change that uplifts our communities. I am the Chief of Staff at a political non-profit dedicated to fostering a more representative and functional government that puts the voters first. My previous experience includes serving as legislative staff for the Colorado Senate Majority Leader, teaching high school civics, and working overseas in humanitarian aid and development. Before running for City Council in 2021, I chaired Englewood's Budget Advisory Committee, was a participant in Englewood's Citizens Planning School.

The first in my family to graduate college, I hold a bachelors degree in Political Science and Secondary Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a masters degree in Global Development & Social Justice from St. John's University.

I am grateful for the opportunity to build a life I love in Englewood. I am a parishioner at The Sacred Grace, I love meeting friends at one of Englewood's great restaurants or bars, and I spend my free perusing the Englewood Public Library shelves in search of a good book.
